The pub quiz is back in full swing, and we're almost done with the first month of 2014. Surprisingly, it's January, the same first month we had in 2013. Unsurprisingly, most of the rounds were the same as ones we did in 2013.

I was joined by the dedicated-to-regularly-hosting OJ the Imposter. We had a Duke Silver wordplay round, name that movie via its tag line, and a round called "What Comes Next?" And that was just the first half! What came next was the second half. We had similes, an audio round about whistling songs, and a common bond round on Monty Python. There may have been some complaints about who OJ calls a "lady", but at least OJ's round on similes was "like a bull". Boom.

By the end of the night, January Jonestown Massacre had proved their superior knowledge of a very narrow slice of pop culture. They walked away with a gift certificate to the café for their troubles. I'll remind you that next week is the last quiz of the month, and we'll be giving away our coveted Quizmasters' Cup. Scores are close. It should be exciting. I'm excited! See you then!
